I think thats the intention and I hope they add some more. Nobodies disputing the game is at heart a roguelite, snobbery about them is pointless, they extend replayability. I agree, the artifacts are there for some fun (or masochism). It was quite the run, I learned never to use that artifact again. I beat Aurelionite in the same run so also had him as a hostile NPC shortly after he spawned into my teleporter events and took some AOE from me. I even misclicked and took another beetle guard so had two of them chasing me towards the end, never again. At one point I got a beetle guard and within seconds of spawning he takes some friendly fire and chases you around until you kill him and rinse and repeat. 1) Go to Void Fields with Artifact of Command, Artifact of Swarms, and Artifact of Sacrifice 2) Stand in the dark with fungus and Razorwire to kill enemies. I had this mindset going into it with friendly fire that the enemies would be AOE ing each other and attacking each other but nah it was all my damage getting reflected back onto me. The terminal can be found at the bottom of the level, so as soon as you set foot in the realm, ignore all. I used it with friendly fire the other day. Artifacts in Risk of Rain 2 are activated in Sky Meadow, the fifth stage in each run. It is located within the upper atmosphere of Petrichor V.
